As promised, WidgetBucks Revenue reports are in for Bloggers and Publishers, I guess by now those who have been monetizing their blogs with WidgetBucks should have seen how much they have earned so far.
In my earlier blog, per the impressions and clicks i got, I felt the revenue was going to be a bit high but on the contrary, its not so satisfactory.
Honestly its not the best of revenue report a blogger would expect to see on a friday night, especially when traffic on weekends are not so encouraging.
The report below is the income generated as at October 1st. The 300×250 Banner made some click-thru with revenue @ $1.27.
Well I will still hold on and do some little test drive with other banner sizes to see what next week will bring. It will be too early for anyone to loose hope, afterall this is just the first day report.
If you are a blogger seeking to make money online or monetize your blog or website, then its time for you to Join WidgetBucks Family.

I quite remember the hurdle I went through getting a good apache+mysql software to test my PHP Applications locally before I uploaded them onto the net.
My problem was getting a one-stop-software that could satisfy all the basic needs in hosting a php website.
I used quite a number of softwares but one that stood out amongst the rest was EasyPHP.
EasyPHP technically had all that I wanted to do my php coding from image processing, xml parsing to code encryption. It has an inbuilt phpmyadmin as well to help you build your mysql database.
EasyPHP is a complete software package allowing to use all the power and the flexibility that offers the dynamic language PHP and the effecient use of databases under Windows. Package includes an Apache server, a MySQL database, a fully PHP execution, as well as easy development tools for your web site or your applications.
The current version is EASYPHP 2.0 beta 1, and it contains Apache 2.2.3, PHP 5.2.0, MySQL 5.0.27, phpMyAdmin 2.9.1.1 and SQLiteManager 1.2.0.
Via Easyphp.org
Easyphp supports many languages including French and English.

It’s just about 24hours since I installed WidgetBucks on my blogs and the picture above shows my current stats.
Unfortunately the reports statistics are delayed so you cannot see the exact amount earned so far.
For me the 300×250 Banner is performing wonders with impressions of about 19,000 and 48 Clicks @ 0.25%.
The 728×90 Banner isn’t also doing badly with 6 clicks already. I am still experimenting the various ad sizes to know which one best suits my websites and blogs.
I am definitely waiting for the close of this weekend to see how much I have actually earned from WidgetBucks.

Bloggers who are not earning so much from their current advertising channels should be smiling by now with the release of an innovative online money making tool from the folks at Mpire Corporation, WidgetBucks!.
Of course like the name suggests “Widget-Bucks”, a widget that puts bucks in your pockets. LOL!
For all you bloggers out there who want to monetize your websites or blogs, you might want to add WidgetBucks to your current money-makers list.
I registered an account for myself last night and so far so good. I have over 5,000 impressions with quite a number of clicks.
Control Panel
WidgetBucks has a very interesting control panel that allows you to create as many widgets as possible to suit your website or your blog. Perhaps one very interesting feature it offers is the “category of product” tool that actually allows you to select the kind of ads you want to display on your website.
So far the major categories you can select from are Video Games, Sports and Outdoors, Musical Instruments, Media, Kids and Family, Jewelery and Watches, Home and Garden, Health and Beauty, Camera and Photo, Electronics, Computers, Clothing and Accessories and Cars
For you daredevils who even want a richer experience with getting ads per the content you have, widgetbucks have a product called MerchSense, which crawls your page and finds relevant products to include in your widget. Interesting isn’t it.
Ad Sizes
At the moment bloggers and publishers have 5 main options to choose from. They are:
- Skyscraper 160×600
- Rectangle 300×250
- Leaderboard 728×90
- Full Banner 468×60
- Custom 660×330
Payments
WidgetBucks currently offers payments via checks and paypal. Of course you would have to earn $50 and over before you can get your first payment. We are also told on their website that bloggers can get between $3-$6 CPM.
Referrals
WidgetBucks also have very interesting and competitive offers for referrals in the advertising industry. They have cool banners you can choose from to suite your website or blog
Adding referral tools to your site or blog is a snap with the code snippets below. There’s no need to add your affiliate code — it’s already built in.
With WidgetBucks’ Referral program, affiliates can earn a 10 percent referral fee based on the commissions earned by the people they refer.
Affiliates receive this 10 percent for the full 12 months after the new member joins. Payouts to affiliates are monthly, along with their commission checks.

Problogger, one of the most interactive weblogs which focuses on giving tips to bloggers on how to make money online is gearing up for its 3rd anniversary. The fun part of it is that, it is giving away prizes worth $54,000 to its loyal readers.
Problogger is one of Darren Rowse’s successful blogs and he has been running it since September 2004.
You heard me right - over $50,000 in cash and prizes have been donated by generous sponsors to this event and every cent of them will be going to ProBlogger readers in the coming 7 days. The prizes will be given out over a number of days through a variety of different competitions.
There are 115 sponsors (give or take a couple that we’re finalizing) - some are offering multiple prizes (one is offering something for up to 500 of you - which pushed up the prize pool value).
Prizes range from getting theme songs composed for podcasts/videos (something I wouldn’t mind winning myself), to iPods, to logo designs, to magazine subscriptions, to books, to cash and vouchers and so much more. Prizes values range from just a few dollars in value to thousands of dollars.
If you are interested in getting some of these freebies, you would want to subscribe to Problogger RSS Feed to keep yourself updated on this terrific giveaway.

After going through the first 6 parts of this tutorial, I realized I could do more to check the status of an sms message so i decided to add this part of the tutorial.
What this does is to check the status and charge of a message by your self just in case the callback url doesn’t give you the required feedback on time. Meaning this tutorial will help you to manual query the clickatell gateway to check the status of your sms message.
All you have to do is to create a page “status.php” and use the code below.
status.php
<?php
//*********************************************** //
// Send SMS Message Using Clickatell API - Part 7
// 23rd September 2007
// www.mboateng.com
// Michael Ofori Amanfo Boateng
//
//********************************************
echo “loading……”;
require_once(’settings.php’);
// auth call
$url = “http://api.clickatell.com/http/auth?user=$user”;
$url = $url.”&password=$password&api_id=$api_id”;
$ret = file($url);
// split our response. return string is on first line of the data returned
$sess = split(”:”,$ret[0]);
$sess_id = trim($sess[1]);
mysql_select_db($database_conn, $conn);
$result1 = mysql_query(”select * from tbl_outbox where status <> ‘004′ and dayofyear(now()) - dayofyear(dated) < 1 limit 10″,$conn);
$result2 = mysql_num_rows($result1);
while ($mydata1 = mysql_fetch_array($result1)){
$messageid = $mydata1[’messageid’];
$api = trim($mydata1[’apimsgid’]);
//////////////////////////////////////////////
/////////////////////////////////////////////
// check charge
$charge_url = “$baseurl/http/getmsgcharge?session_id=$sess_id”;
$charge_url = $charge_url.”&apimsgid=$api”;
$charge_return = file($charge_url);
foreach($charge_return as $item){
$findapi = strpos($item, “apiMsgId:”);
$findcharge = strpos($item, “charge:”);
$findstatus = strpos($item, “status:”);
$length = strlen($item);
//Find the apimsgid
$part1 = substr($item, $findapi,$findstatus );
$part2no = strpos($item, $part1);
$api = trim(substr($item, $findapi,$findcharge ));
$status= trim(substr($item, $findstatus,$length ));
$charge= trim(substr($item, $findcharge, $findstatus - $findcharge ));
//find charge
$ret = $charge;
$sess = split(”:”,$ret);
$charge = trim($sess[1]);
//find status
$ret = $status;
$sess = split(”:”,$ret);
$status = trim($sess[1]);
mysql_select_db($database_conn, $conn);
$sql = “update tbl_outbox set status = ‘$status’ , charge = ‘$charge’ where messageid =$messageid”;
$result = mysql_query($sql, $conn) or die(mysql_error());
}
}
mysql_free_result($result1);
echo “Update Completed”;
?>
